Details
Villa Comino, in West Cornwall, was designed with seaside holidays in mind. It is comfortable and welcoming, with minimum maintenance.
In style it is a detached bungalow with a detached garage set in a large garden, which is mainly a flat lawn , with hedges (mainly
escallonia) on two sides, low walls on the other two sides. It is one house in from the greensward, and you can see the sea
from the sitting room. At night you fall asleep to the gentle cries of seagulls. In the morning a two-minute walk to the Praa Sands Post Office
and General Stores will enable you to have your newspaper with breakfast.
The entrance hall is tiled with a coat rack and two cupboards (one the hot press; the other a deep broom and storage cupboard)
The living room faces south and west (wonderful for watching sunsets) and extends the full width of the bungalow. The large windows look out over fields
and the sea. There is an open fireplace (logs and coal easily available locally) with television and a sitting area
at one end, and a dining area at the other. A hatch opens into the kitchen.
The spacious family kitchen has all the usual kitchen stuff - cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, sink, well-stocked
storage cupboards, china, washer/dryer etc.
There is a bathroom, with shower attachment in the bath, and separate loo.
Finally two bedrooms - one with a double bed and spacious wardrobe, the other with full-sized bunk beds, plus a divan bed and a washhand
basin.
The garage stores emergency buckets and spades - no seaside holiday would be complete without these - plus a windbreak, in case the Cornish sea breezes get too much, and there are
outdoor chairs, table plus a barbeque for eating al fresco on those balmy evenings Cornwall is famous for - when you can relax and watch the sun setting over the hills beyond.
The garage also has room for a car!
